The Food Conspiracy Co-op is launching a campaign this summer to help shoppers eat local. Through July 14, shoppers can take the Eat Local Challenge and explore our region's locally sourced foods. Here's more from a Food Conspiracy Co-Op press release:

To make things a little bit easier, we’re putting local food on sale. All locally grown produce and local grocery items will be 10% off. Additionally, a different Conspiracy Kitchen item will be 10% off each day during the challenge. Each day, we’ll let you know what is on sale via Twitter and Facebook.

Plus, compete in the Eat Local Instagram Challenge and be entered to win a $100 Food Conspiracy Co-op gift card, a Tucson Cooks cookbook and a Conspiracy Beer pint glass. Use Instagram to photograph local food you grew, foraged, or cooked. Remember to use the hashtag #TucsonEatsLocal. The more photos you submit, the more chances you have to win! Find us on Instagram @foodconspiracy

The Food Conspiracy defines local food as anything grown within 200 miles of the co-op, or anything made by a business located within 200 miles. During the Eat Local Challenge and throughout the year, the Food Conspiracy helps shoppers identify local food by labeling all of our local products.

Foods that will be on sale at the co-op during the eat local challenge include vegetables from Sleeping Frog Farms and Forever Yong Farms, Isabella’s Ice Cream, Not So Gringo Salsa, Julie Bars, La Tauna Tortillas, tamales from Tucson Tamale Co., Zen Hens eggs, Rex’s Perogies, Conspiracy Coffee, Conspiracy Kitchen sandwiches, wraps, granola, brownies, salads, muffins, bagels, and green chili breakfast burritos.
