No, the Tea Party Patriots didn't exactly call Obama Hitler in the top image, which I found on the group's Facebook page. But when I looked at the graphic with a cut-off image of an iron Caduceus, a symbol connected with medicine, I immediately associated it with Nazi symbolism. The way that isolated wing hovers above a circle with a cross inside it tilted to one side looked familiar. Sure enough, the iron eagle perched on a swastika (at nearly the same angle as the cross) in a circle is a ubiquitous symbol of the Third Reich. No way the similarity is coincidental.

Evoking the image of Obama as Hitler "TRYING TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE!" and having "What are you talking about? It's just a picture of a Caduceus!" deniability. I have to compliment — reluctantly — the graphic artist who created the image and the TPP's evolution into a sophisticated propaganda organization. They've come a long way from the days when they drew crude Hitler mustaches on Obama.
