'People Who Steal Really Suck' Concert Raises Funds For Thieved-Upon Musicians

Posted By on Tue, Jul 16, 2013 at 6:12 PM

Heather " Li'l Mama" Hardy's many Tucson friends threw a concert for her Tuesday, July 9, at Boondocks. Sometime Tucson Weekly contributor Jim Lipson organized the shindig to raise funds for replacing gear stolen from the popular Tucson blues singer and fiddle player. The occasion featured musicians and friends including Sabra Falk, Marie O'Hagin, Mitzi Cowell and the Valiants and the Wayback Machine. More than enough funds were raised, and Hardy promises others will benefit, too.

The next day, Hardy posted to her Facebook page a message of thanks:

"Been overwhelmed with tears all day ... All of u that came to the benefit, I just thank u so much ... I am in shock ... I hear that it was such an amazing success financially ... And that money will certainly be shared with others . But as much as the money is a gift ... The love has been ... Well .. There are just no words ... For how full my heart is . Thank u ... God bless u . May u all have Music music music and love love love in incredible abundance as I do ..."
