Kelly: 'The General Starts Tonight'

Posted By on Tue, Apr 17, 2012 at 8:30 PM

From Jim Nintzel, at the Jesse Kelly gathering tonight at the Viscount Suite Hotel:

After the early results came in—showing that he had a commanding lead—Jesse Kelly declined to declare victory, but said he was "humbled" by the show of support.

"The general starts tonight," he said.

Kelly's gathering was smaller than the party he had on the evening of the GOP primary election in 2010, when he beat former state lawmaker Jonathan Paton. He would go on to lose a close race to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in the general election.
