Barber Reax: Aboud Staying in Congressional Race

Posted by on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 12:30 PM

In the wake of Ron Barber's announcement yesterday that he was running for the new Congressional District 2 seat later this year, State Sen. Paula Aboud tells The Range that she also plans to stay in the CD2 race.

“I’m focused on the new district and the new term and I’m continuing forward,” Aboud says.

Aboud adds that she is also standing by her endorsement of Barber in the special election.

“Ron is a better choice than Jesse Kelly or Frank Antenori, but let’s see how it all shakes out,” Aboud says.

State Rep. Steve Farley has reset his sights on a state Senate seat, while state Rep. Matt Heinz says he'll challenge Barber for the Democratic nomination in the CD2 race.
