A Message from Rep. Gabrielle Giffords by RepGiffords

In case you missed it earlier, here's a message from Rep. Giffords, as posted on her Soundcloud page.

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, in a message recorded to her Southern Arizona constituents, says that she is getting better and is anxious to get back to work representing them.

“I’m getting stronger. I’m getting better,” the three-term congresswoman said in the message released today. The congresswoman also said, “I want to get back to work. Representing Arizona is my honor.”

The message, which lasts about a minute, was recorded last week in Houston, where Giffords has been undergoing rigorous rehabilitation therapy for 10 months. She was shot in the head on Jan. 8 while meeting with her constituents at a shopping center in Northwest Tucson. Six people were killed in the shooting and 12 others, in addition to Giffords, were wounded.

Since the congresswoman went to Houston for therapy, she has been kept updated by staff members about events in Congress and in her district. She has returned to Tucson twice so far for private family visits.
