Rothschild Raises More Than $160K for Mayoral Campaign

Posted By on Wed, Jun 29, 2011 at 4:36 PM

Mayoral candidate Jonathan Rothschild has raised more than $160,000 for his mayoral campaign—which is a whole lot of cheese, especially since, as it now stands, he'll only face a Green Party candidate. (Republicans are talking about fielding a write-in candidate in the primary in order to get a GOP candidate in the general election.)

If you feel like checking out the reports, you can find them here.

Here's the press release from the Rothschild campaign:

As shown by his June 30th campaign finance report, filed today, over 1,000 individual donors have given over $160,000 to Democratic candidate Jonathan Rothschild’s campaign since he filed to run for Mayor of Tucson on January 24, 2011.

Donors have come from all walks of life and all parts of Tucson, as well as surrounding areas. Many are retired and living on fixed incomes. Others are active members of the legal, business, non-profit or environmental communities.

“I am encouraged by how many people are willing to invest in moving Tucson forward with new leadership,” said Rothschild.

Rothschild explains his broad, bipartisan support by citing his deep roots in the community. “I’ve spent most of my career as an attorney helping small businesses. My volunteer work has been helping children, seniors and the homeless — as well as supporting education. Regardless of what party they belong to, Tucsonans want good jobs, good government and a good life. I’m determined to work hard to do all I can from the Mayor’s office to make that a reality for as many Tucsonans as possible.”
