Thanks, Arizona Daily Star!

The musical free-for-all that is Club Crawl has become Very Important.

For the first time, 500 VIP passes will be sold at $20 apiece in advance to crawlers who want to kick it up a notch Saturday when 80-plus acts play on 29 stages at what organizers call Tucson's largest music festival.

"When you look at the sheer size of the event and the bands we're booking, it's a pretty amazing event for Tucson," said organizer Jeb Schoonover. "We want to offer something for everybody out there, and we do - rockabilly, indie rock, bluegrass, hip-hop, norteño, acoustic, lounge music.

"The event is so multifaceted, it can be whatever you want it to be."

In addition to front-of-line access at all venues, VIPS get into a private event on the newly renovated patio behind the Rialto Exhibition Hall, 300 E. Congress St.

DJ Butta Fly will spin soul and cool grooves. There will also be a separate bar and private bathrooms in the area.

VIPs also get free entry to the "King Tut: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh's Tomb" exhibit until 10 p.m. that night at the Rialto Exhibition Hall (tickets are usually $18).

Schoonover wanted to ensure the VIP was worth the extra $10 to $12 it costs over the price of a general admission ticket.

"It makes sense," Schoonover said. "For 12 extra bucks you're going to get a lot out of it - from the exhibit, the bathrooms, a private bar. Club Crawl's so hectic, it will be a nice getaway."
