Bus Strike Possible on Monday

Sun Tran is warning people that a bus strike is possible on Monday (Aug. 2):

Sun Tran drivers and mechanics of Teamsters Union 104 are under contract to work until midnight, Saturday, July 31. Sun Tran management and union representatives are continuing to negotiate the terms of a new contract. If an agreement cannot be reached, union members may go on strike as early as Monday, August 2.

I am a low income person who soulfully depends on the bus transit system in Tucson, and like alot of people I use it as my tool and way to get things done and get around town, I hope this goes quickly and not for the long run espeacially when it concerens apartment rent.......Thanks 85719

as a bus driver and public servant i under stand the concerens and needs our community i see it every day,but please under stand us we are not stricking for a raise, we are striking to keep what we worked hard to for the past 20 years.most of us still work pay check to pay check .and have bills and famlies to take care of .dont take away what we have earnd.

cisco why are you held harmless when every other city worker and outside agency doesn't get such protections. why are you special?

I thought that was the whole point of unions, Bullseye, to protect the working man.
