Death Comes In Threes

First Ed McMahon, and then Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson the same day. Ed was old, Farrah had cancer, and Michael ... what will happen to his kids?

Michael Jackson - "I'm a lover, not a fighter"

Ed McMahon - "Here's Johnny!"
- "How big is it?"

Do you mean the kids he pretended to sire or the kids he pretended he didn't molest?

None of us knows whether he molested anyone. Innocent before proven guilty, remember? I personally don't believe he was capable of the act, as his off-stage personality seems wholly asexual. Beyond that, though, MJ is another in a long list of artists whose behavior was simply too exotic for mainstream puritanical tastes. As an artist, I find his lifestyle to be more fascinating than repulsive. What performance artist can even come close to claiming what MJ did? His very visage makes us confront complicated, disturbing issues of vanity, race and the meaning of self. I feel like a great, misunderstood American artist has died...

It's a start but doesn't quite go far enough...

Child star "MJ" had huge and profound, perhaps fatal, "father issues" ... why else would he eventually dangle his children from hotel window?

Kish's observations are on and off, perhaps?
